ALIVE SERVER MONITOR OLED VERSION
ESP32-S3 Super Mini + SSD1306 0.96" OLED + Status LEDs
WHY OLED?
Simple I2C Wiring
Only 4 wires needed (VCC, GND, SDA, SCL)
Self-Luminous
No backlight needed - true blacks, great contrast
Ultra Low Power
Only draws power for lit pixels
Compact Form Factor
0.96" diagonal - perfect for small enclosures
LED INDICATOR BEHAVIOR
| BLUE LED (G5) | RED LED (G10) | MEANING |
|---|---|---|
| ON (Always) | OFF | All servers responding - System Healthy |
| ON (Always) | FLASHING (500ms) | One or more servers not responding - ALERT |

IMPORTANT NOTES
- I2C Address: Default address is
0x3C. Some modules use0x3D- check your display or try both. - Voltage: SSD1306 modules typically accept 3.3V-5V. Using 3.3V from ESP32 is recommended.
- I2C Pins: GPIO 8 (SDA) and GPIO 9 (SCL) are software I2C. Any GPIO can be used with Wire.begin(SDA, SCL).
- LEDs: GPIO 5 (Blue) and GPIO 10 (Red). Use 330 ohm resistors for bare LEDs. Blue stays ON, Red flashes on alert.
- Libraries: Install
Adafruit SSD1306andAdafruit GFX Libraryvia Arduino Library Manager. - Display Size: 128x64 pixels. Layout is optimized for compact status display.
- Power Draw: OLED only draws power for lit pixels. Typical ~20mA vs ~30mA for LCD backlight.
